In the praise of your beauty

How do I praise your beauty?
Although I want to say that your eyes are like black pearls resting within lotus petals,
I know the shimmer and glaze they carry belong to my Mother, Tripura Sundari.
Although I want to say that your eyebrows are as soothing as the view of sand dunes at sunset,
I know it is the grace of Maa Bhagwati that arches above and spreads that peace.
Your beauty is not merely yours—
It is Maa Shakti’s gentle sprinkle of herself upon you.

विरह

Aur ek woh hai jo saari thand chadar taan ke soye rahe.

The Man Who Told the Truth

The Man Who Told the Truth

There once lived a man who could see through varnish.

He could see the crack in a smile before it formed.
He could hear the tremor beneath confident voices.
He could sense the bargain hidden inside every noble promise.

It was not a gift he had asked for. It was simply how his eyes worked.

When men praised charity, he saw calculation.
When leaders spoke of sacrifice, he saw ambition.
When lovers whispered “forever,” he heard the quiet ticking of time.

And so he spoke.

Not loudly. Not theatrically. Simply, precisely.

“That partnership will fail,” he would say.
“He flatters you because he needs you.”
“You don’t love her. You fear being alone.”

At first, people laughed.

Then they avoided.

Then they warned others.

“He is negative.”
“He cannot celebrate anything.”
“He ruins the mood.”
“He thinks too much.”

The truth is rarely rejected for being false.
It is rejected for being untimely.

He did not understand timing.

---

There was a woman he loved.

She had eyes that trusted easily and a heart that leaped before it looked. She loved another man — a man of grand gestures and rehearsed sincerity.

“He lies,” the truth-teller said to her one evening.
“He rehearses even his vulnerability. He has betrayed before. He will betray again.”

She stared at him as if he had spat on something sacred.

“You are bitter,” she said.
“Not wise. Bitter.”

He wanted to say: I love you. I would never lie to you.
But he had already told her that love is temporary.

“All love fades,” he had said once, casually. “It is biology disguised as poetry.”

She did not speak to him after that.

Months later, the man she loved was exposed — messages, secrets, another woman in another city. Everything the truth-teller had seen without effort unfolded exactly as he had described.

She did not return.

Truth can predict collapse.
It cannot repair trust.

---

The town learned something strange about him.

Everything he said eventually came to pass.

The business venture failed.
The political leader was indicted.
The generous philanthropist was revealed to be siphoning funds.
The marriages he warned about dissolved quietly.

People would nod, privately.

“He was right.”

But they would not sit beside him at festivals.
They would not invite him to celebrations.
They would not confide in him.

No one likes a mirror that does not flatter.

He was not cruel. He did not enjoy being correct. Often, after speaking, he would go home and sit alone, staring at the ceiling, wishing he could unsee.

He wondered if wisdom without tenderness is merely exposure.

He wondered if love requires illusion the way a seed requires soil.

Years passed.

The woman married, divorced, grew older. He watched from a distance, never intruding. He never said, I told you so. That would have been vulgar.

One evening, long after the noise of youth had faded, she met him again.

“You were right,” she said quietly.

“I know,” he replied.

There was no triumph in his voice. Only fatigue.

“Why did you always have to say it?” she asked.

He paused.

“Because I thought truth would save you.”

She smiled, but it was a sad smile.

“Truth doesn’t save,” she said. “It prepares.”

For the first time in his life, he did not respond immediately.

He realized something then — a thing he had seen in others but never in himself.

He had loved her.

But he had loved being right more than being gentle.

And perhaps that, too, was a human frailty.

After that day, he did not stop seeing through people.

He simply began choosing when to speak.

The town changed its tone toward him slowly.

He was still respected.
Still feared, a little.
Still correct, more often than not.

But occasionally, he was invited to sit, to listen, to say nothing.

And in that silence, he discovered a new truth:

Not every truth must be spoken.
Some must be carried.

He carried them carefully after that.

And though he never married her,
and though love proved as temporary as he had predicted,

for the first time in his life,
he was not alone.

Love story

I searched here, I looked there.
How shall I tell you which nook and corner did I spare?
Poor me was looted and hooted but no sign of you came to relief.
At last I had to resort within me to see you enthroned in my heart .
Absent from world and yet omnipresent you.
You are just an illusion. A perfect deception. Yet my stupid heart longs for you! My love makes you happen. You exist because of my belief.

Lessons from Raddiwala

A young boy slept till late in the morning. His father woke-up at dawn everyday and after getting fresh did all the household chores. However, his son woke up at 11 am and shamelessly freshened up till 12 or even 1pm. One day father decided to discuss the matter with him. "Dear son, why waste your morning in sleeping? You can in stead utilise your time in spiritual and material growth," said the worrisome father. The words fell on the deaf ears. He then to set an example said, "Look even the Raddiwala gets up early and starts working. You can listen him cooing in streets at early morning." On this the son replied, "Do you want me to become a raddiwala? is that your idea of spiritual and material growth?"
Moral of the story, "If someone has resorted into laziness, he will never lack excuses or arguments but logic!"

Why war?

War begets war; Hate begets hate; But war is a profitable business hence so many wars in world.
Peace begets peace; Harmony begets harmony; But peace is a path that dissolves ego hence less travelled.
Love begets renunciation; Hence there are no success stories of love. Only misunderstood Buddhas and crucified Christs!

Fans can't be free!

The moment we agree to be a fan/follower of someone we are lost from our own path. It results in agreement to lose our opportunity to be free and enlightened. Fandom/following is an acceptance to the influence of the other. All influences are bad. Influence makes you lose originality. That something which is not you comes to existence, off course not in reality but in illusion. This illusion proves to be barrier(as a confusion to mistake one for the other) to understand your actual self. The enlightenment is byproduct of looking with untainted vision at one's own reality.
The eyes of a fan are covered with colored glasses. It will never be able to see the reality, without uncovering the eyes. Another great disadvantage for a fan/follower is the attachment to this colored glasses. The influencer, who seeks a following, seeds slowly, gradually and carefully the extreme relations of follower's beliefs and ego with this tinted glass. The followers first step into the system is to believe. Completely and irrationally. By discarding every opportunity of falsification. All beliefs are false by nature. As the fan or follower enters this charismatic influence, his real self get trapped more and more layer by layer. Making introspection extremely difficult.

All influences are bad influences. Hence Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, once said, "If you find a buddha in your path then kill him." He meant to avoid all influences and walk your path to enlightenment alone. Refrain from creating layers of fake identities and introspect the physical reality. The permanent can be discovered only through introspection of what is impermanent.

Dieing Archer

Today I met a dieing archer. He was in great pain. His skin had turned blue and eyes were bloodshot.
He thereby laid in corner of fields, breathing heavily and awaited his death with heart full of hatred and mouth full of bitter songs and curses. He sang how the world is selfish and brutal. How there is no loyalty in anyone. I went to him to listen to his sorrow and he told me his tale.

He said he was a smart archer and very competent in aim. He forged arms with his own hands. He had acquired best skills. His weapons were unmatchable. Their edge had no opponent. He especially cared for his arrows which he crafted with steel and nourished with venom so as no target escapes. The arrows were to him like a child is to mother. But the edge that he forged for his enemies now cut his own body by chance. He now cursed the loyalty of his arrows for he was their creator and they care not to kill him.

I stood there numb. How could I tell him that poison is poison! It won’t care to whom it effect. Its only purpose is destruction and will serve it without fail.

There is no Art maker

An artist is a student. His studenthood is lifelong. The process which others perceive as of making art is actually the process of learning. While working on every art piece artist is learning. It is a process of refinement. Refinement not just of artist's skill and talent but also of his self. The process of refinement is a lifelong, in every work till his death. The best work of an artist is learning. He must ceaselessly carry it on. Only then he will be really an Artist. The moment he stops to be a student he will stop being an artist. There is no art maker just art learner. This is what I have learnt today. Please feel free to comment critically and add on to my understanding.
